We were delighted this week to see two IPS UK clients represented in the shortlist for the Society of Young Publishers First Chapter Award. Huge congratulations to Tara Hiralal, Sales Executive at Facet Publishing, and Laura Swift, Editorial Co-ordinator at Manchester University Press.
The awards were set up to highlight "emerging talent in the book community", encompassing such diverse roles as librarians, content creators, publishers, and booksellers.
Tara Hiralal is making waves at Facet Publishing, exceeding expectations in her role as a sales professional. Recognising a need within the company, Tara has taken the initiative to champion rights management, driving revenue growth and establishing herself as a key player in the company.
Meanwhile Laura Swift is making a significant impact at Manchester University Press (MUP). In just three years, they have progressed from Editorial Assistant to Editorial Coordinator, demonstrating a commitment to both their own professional growth and the advancement of equity within the publishing industry. Passionate about accessibility and diversity, Laura has spearheaded key initiatives at MUP, including the development of a Higher Education list focused on social justice.
Again, massive congratulations to both!
